  • THINK.

If you have a brother who is doing well enough that he can afford trips to tropical islands and house renovations, and has offered you money with no limits without you even asking because he knows how much you need to find a place to live…

Why on EARTH would you ask your UNEMPLOYED daughter FIRST about a THOUSAND DOLLAR loan (no matter how short-term the loan would be [in this case until the 15th]) and give her a mini panic attack from the massive amount of stress and pressure AND THEN say “Oh, nevermind, I’ll just ask my brother. He’s offered me money already, I just haven’t taken him up on it.”

I’m running on VERY little sleep, okay, my body CANNOT handle this right now.

    ARGH.

On a positive note: We finally got a house. Papers are being drawn up to be signed.

  • Parents. They’re so crazy. So ya’ll buying or renting one?

  • @katchild - Whoop! Sorry, I thought I replied to this already (obviously didn’t). We’re buying because with the way prices are going up EVERYWHERE it would cost us the same or more to rent as it would to buy — AND with renting there will be the constant possibilities/problems of rent going up or another house going into foreclosure. So the folks have been looking for their new home to buy and end all the renting headaches but every time they put an offer down on one (even when they ADDED 5-6K on the offer) some investor would swoop in and buy us out in cash (sometimes for CHEAPER THAN LIST PRICE but since it’s cash the owners always preferred it). Recently the owners of the house they put an offer on called back about how someone else offered them more AND GAVE MY FOLKS A CHANCE TO MATCH IT (which no one has had the curtesy of doing). My folks were able to and so we FINALLY have a house. Mom is over the moon (and we’re all relieved because this was driving her insane with stress).

  • @Snoochie - That’s good. When mom is happy, the whole house can be happy lol
